Westchester Teen Charged With Criminal Obstruction Of Breathing Following Month-Long Probe

A Westchester teen has been charged with criminal obstruction of breathing after a month-long investigation, police say.

New York State Police say Matthew Spataro, 19, of Yonkers grabbed the throat of a female victim against her will, causing injury in Glen Spey, located in Sullivan County.

Spataro was arrested at his Yonkers residence on Wednesday, May 29 following a month-long investigation by SP Liberty BCI and the Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit (CSAVU).

Spataro was transported to the State Police barracks in Haverstraw for processing and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, a Class A misdemeanor. He was ticketed, released and scheduled to appear in the Town of Cumberland Court on Tuesday, June 11.
